October seems to be the month to find amazing “mixtapes” for download on the internet. Here are two that I’ve found that have been really great for working to:
Aeroplane – Aeroplane Not-So-Monthly October 2012 Mix
Aeroplane is a Belgian musician named Vito de Luca. In 2010, he created a Tsunami with his We Can’t Fly album, blending an amazingly original talent for club music with all kinds of other oddly familiar musical genres. It’s the album you remember, but have never heard. Definitely check it out if you haven’t already. And while your at it dig up his remix of Friendly Fire’s “Paris”, it’s amazing. Vito has an impressive catalog and fan base building up on Soundcloud, you can head over to check out some of his work: http://soundcloud.com/aeroplane/
Napoleon – October 2012 Chilled tape
Napoleon is Simon Mills, 1/2 of Bent – a legendary and highly original British Band famous for all sorts of clever and mischievous tunes. Napoleon carries on the tradition producing of extremely well crafted tunes that more often than not, may contain just the perfect amount of cheese-ball that you will definitely grow to appreciate. Check what he’s been up lately on Soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/simon-mills. There you can find really good material for Bent fans and newbies alike.
