The weather outside today was fantastic so I grabbed my camera and headed out to the large mountain park in York, Maine, called Mount Agamenticus. Lucky for me the sun was shining brightly which meant this was a perfect opportunity to use my digital Holga lens.
This lens is a plastic lens that mounts directly onto your DSLR camera body for instant toy camera and vignetting effects. I found mine at the amazing photojojo store.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with close ups and landscape views. I was able to capture a couple of “toy” photos which I was tickled with and the rest have nice coloring and vignetting effects. On my hike I traveled from the Ring Trail to the Blueberry Bluff Trail which takes you right to the peak. The trail is well marked and is a .3 mile, rocky, climb with a visual payoff.
If you are in the York area, or end up there this Spring this mountain is a perfect excuse to get out in nature. The trails are about an hour in length to complete and well maintained. I think next time I venture into the woods I will bring my wide angle and macro lens adapter, experiment with the panoramic views and take close ups of the woody plants. For now, here are the Holga lens shots, I hope you enjoy them!
