It’s a great summer to be a new website! We are proud to announce a new responsive website for Northeast Lantern. Highly respected for both quality and ingenuity in their lanterns, Northeast Lantern makes all of their products by hand using original manufacturing methods right here in New Hampshire. In nearby Exeter, they have been producing lanterns and fixtures for over 26 years. They have been featured on the New Hampshire Chronicle , featured in This Old House magazine, and was voted NH business of the year in manufacturing/technology in 2012. With their new responsive website Northeast Lantern aims to outshine their competition with ease of use and mobile friendliness. Built on the SilverStripe CMS platform, much of the magic of this site takes place behind the scenes. We have implemented a custom data model that allows for easy updates and maintenance of their entire product line in one easy-to-use searchable interface. There’s a unique dealer login system that integrates with Google Maps, automatically querying geo coordinates upon registration of new dealers and when a dealer updates their profile information. The site also takes advantage of IP location information allowing for visitors to the website to automatically home in to their specific region in the US or Canada. While users browse the website and sift through the large descriptive images of the entire Northeast Lantern product line, they have the ability to store their favorite lanterns into a wish-list and from the Dealer Locator page, can email their wish-list to any dealer directly from the Locator’s search results. The result is a unique Dealer Locator web app that will make it easy for customers to find or learn more about Northeast Lantern products directly from their nearest dealer, without the need for Northeast Lantern to manage addresses or contacts.
The many features of this website are refined to work on all mobile devices. By using responsive web building techniques we can ensure that Northeast Lantern’s customers will be able to browse and find information about their product line on any device they might have and from any location for many years to come.
